125 Ventures is a NYC-based venture capital firm committed to investing in cutting-edge technologies and companies shaping the future of women's sports, media, and entertainment and unlocking new opportunities for growth.
The fund officially launched in 2024. It also established the 125 Community, a highly curated peer group of investors, founders, and thought leaders in the sports, media, entertainment, and tech sectors. The firm hosted two dinners with 25 people in May and November 2024.
This year, Black Star Fund witnessed the growth of its investment in Actively Black, a premium athleisure and sports apparel brand with a mission to reinvest in Black communities. Black Star Fund’s initial $100,000 investment in the brand has grown approximately 37x, now valued at $3.7 million.
Black Star Fund is a Black-led venture capital firm that invests primarily in Black founders. They invest in the innovators – individuals who see new enterprises as the gateway to a world that is more abundant, balanced, and productive.
In 2024, Bold Reuse secured contracts with professional sports teams, now working with 10 teams across the MLB, NFL, NBA, MLS, and NWSL leagues, representing a 90% market share. New clients included the Seahawks, Chicago Bears, KC Current, and Arizona Diamondbacks. The company also tripled its revenue over the past year.
Bold Reuse is committed to ending single-use waste by making reusable packaging accessible for all. It provides expertise across sanitation, logistics, data, and strategy to help companies achieve their zero-waste goals faster and more efficiently — all with a single expert partner.
Daintree Capital provides working capital loans to women and other under-represented founders. By focusing on debt capital, it offers greater latitude to invest in a wide variety of businesses that need growth capital but are often overlooked by traditional investors.
Daintree crossed the $6M line in loans underwritten since inception, representing 140 loans across 77 unique companies. A key achievement was the significant growth realized by the companies Daintree invested in. On average, the companies that received loans from Daintree doubled their revenue within the first 12 months.
Everybody Water is a women-owned business that sells premium water in recyclable cartons. The company's mission is to help people access clean water, especially in developing countries
This year, Everybody Water onboarded Hilton Supply Management Corp., obtaining a "license to hunt" and gaining access to 16,000 properties. The company’s largest distributor account now exceeds $1 million in annual revenue. Everybody Water launched with Office Depot B2B Office, and reached break-even on an operating basis (EBITDA) by the end of the year.
Fortuna Bank is a women-owned small business bank offering business and personal deposit accounts and loans for Ohio and beyond.
A key milestone for Fortuna Bank this year was finalizing its capital raise and surpassing the minimum requirement. This achievement was a major undertaking and a crucial step in ensuring the successful opening of its doors.
